The Concorde is a supersonic jet made by the French. This jet flanks the many speeds of other aircraft by and amazing feat of 1350MPH, beating the average passenger jet by more than 450MPH. This piece of human intellect boasts four Olympus turbojet engines made by Rolls-Royce. While taking a jet from Los Angeles to London would take sixteen hours in a normal aircraft the Concorde would get you there in under eight hours. This jet still holds the record for being the fastest aircraft in the world. After being such an amazing piece of engineering one might wonder why this amazing jet is not still in service. The reason for this perplexity is the ever daunting fact that on July 25 2008 the Concorde en route from Paris to New York had a tire blow out. This caused a fire to spread to the engines forcing the plane and one hundred four people to plummet into a local hotel killing all within the plane along with four people in the hotel.

After such a horrific crash it is no wonder that the twenty Concordes made were decomishoned.
